Dear Students, Parents, Guardians, Staff and the entire St. Peter’s SSS Nsambya family. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all back to St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School, Nsambya, as we begin Term III of the 2026 academic year. I hope that our students have returned refreshed, focused and ready to continue with their studies, while our parents and guardians have also had an opportunity to prepare their children for another important term. As a school community, we are grateful for the continued trust and support you give us in nurturing and educating our young people.
Term III is a particularly important period in our academic calendar. For our Senior Four and Senior Six students, the term brings us closer to the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations. These examinations represent an important milestone in the academic journey of our learners, and we encourage all candidates to approach them with confidence, discipline and seriousness. Success at this stage will not come from last-minute preparation, but from consistent revision, attending lessons, listening to teachers, asking questions and making good use of every available opportunity to learn.
I therefore appeal to our candidates to remain focused and avoid distractions. There will always be time for many things in life, but there are moments when we must give particular attention to the goals before us. Your teachers are ready to guide you, and the school will continue to provide the support you need. Parents and guardians, your role is equally important. A word of encouragement at home, providing the necessary scholastic materials and taking an interest in your child’s progress can make a significant difference during this final stage of preparation.
As we begin the term, we are also mindful of the changes taking place within Uganda’s education sector. The Ministry of Education and Sports continues to place emphasis on practical learning, science and technology, digital skills and the development of learners beyond academic knowledge. The growing attention being given to areas such as ICT, practical sciences, sports and other skills reminds us that education today must prepare young people not only to pass examinations, but also to solve problems, create opportunities and contribute meaningfully to society.
There are also important examination-related responsibilities for our schools and families. UNEB has directed schools to display the registers of candidates for the 2026 examinations to allow candidates, parents and guardians to verify important details such as names, photographs and registered subjects. The exercise runs until 7 October 2026. We encourage our parents and candidates to take this opportunity seriously and work closely with the school to ensure that all information is correctly captured ahead of the examinations.
To our continuing students, I encourage you not to view Term III simply as the final term of the year. See it as an opportunity to improve yourself. If your performance in the previous terms was not what you expected, there is still time to make a difference. Identify where you struggled, seek help from your teachers and develop better study habits. If you performed well, do not become complacent. Continue working hard and challenge yourself to achieve even more.
At St. Peter’s SSS Nsambya, we believe that education is a partnership between the school, the learner and the home. Our teachers have a responsibility to teach, guide and inspire; our students have a responsibility to learn, work hard and uphold discipline; while our parents and guardians have an important role in providing encouragement, guidance and support. When these three come together, we create an environment in which young people can truly thrive.
As Headteacher, I want to assure you that our commitment remains firmly centred on the growth and success of every learner entrusted to our care. We want St. Peter’s SSS Nsambya to be a place where academic excellence is pursued alongside good character, discipline, responsibility, creativity and confidence. Our greatest achievement will not simply be seeing our students leave with good grades, but seeing them become responsible young people who can positively influence their families, communities and country.
I welcome you all back to Term III with renewed hope and confidence. To our candidates, finish your preparation strongly. To our parents, continue walking with us. To our teachers and staff, thank you for your continued dedication. And to every student, remember that your future is shaped by the choices you make today. Let us therefore work together, remain focused and continue raising the standard of our school.
